Dr. Narek Melkonyan

PhD in Mathematical Economics

Manager Data Science

Narek is Manager Data Science at the PMI Science R&D Center in Armenia leading a department of 50+ specialists. In this role, he applies his analytical skills to drive and translate data into meaningful insights and recommendations to enable better science- and fact-based decision making, as well as identify innovative solutions to business problems and drive more effective and efficient operations.

Narek joined PMI from the IT industry in 2018 and continues to hold an adjunct professor position at the American University of Armenia.

He holds a PhD in Mathematical Economics and Master’s degree in Statistics & Probability.

Reduced Risk Products ("RRPs”) is the term we use to refer to products that present, are likely to present, or have the potential to present less risk of harm to smokers who switch to these products versus continuing smoking. PMI has a range of RRPs in various stages of development, scientific assessment and commercialization. All of our RRPs are smoke-free products that deliver nicotine with far lower quantities of harmful and potentially harmful constituents than found in cigarette smoke.
