Dr. Davide Sciuscio

PhD in Toxicology and Pharmacology, degree in Medicinal Chemistry, Postdoc in Cancer Research

Global Head of SFP Program

Davide is the Global Head of the Smoke-Free Products (SFP) Program and has been with Philip Morris International (PMI) since 2012, holding various leadership roles, including in preclinical toxicological evaluation. Italian by origin, he holds a PhD in Toxicology and Pharmacology, a degree in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Bologna, Italy, and a postdoc in Cancer Research from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland.

Davide joined PMI as a toxicologist and shortly afterwards led the preclinical and toxicological evaluation group providing scientific support for the development and assessment of PMI’s smoke-free product portfolio. Now, as the Global Head of the SFP Program, he leads the strategic oversight and delivery of PMI smoke-free products across different scientific domains. Davide has 17 years of experience in toxicology and preclinical research and has published numerous articles in international scientific journals.

Reduced Risk Products ("RRPs”) is the term we use to refer to products that present, are likely to present, or have the potential to present less risk of harm to smokers who switch to these products versus continuing smoking. PMI has a range of RRPs in various stages of development, scientific assessment and commercialization. All of our RRPs are smoke-free products that deliver nicotine with far lower quantities of harmful and potentially harmful constituents than found in cigarette smoke.
